It’s time to get off the sidelines.
The United Nations and International Olympic Committee have called on ALL sport organizations to sign the new ‘Sports for Climate Action’ declaration to leverage the influence of sport to facilitate swift action on climate change in the next decade.

Please take a few minutes to read the Sports for Climate Action Framework, and consider signing the letter of commitment to the Framework’s Five Principles at the end of the document. The Council for Responsible Sport can help facilitate the submission of letters of commitment to the United Nations Climate Change program.
In October 2017, the Council for Responsible Sport participated in the first-ever “Dialogue on Sport and Climate Action” in Bonn, Germany. This gathering was the genesis of the Sports for Climate Action initiative, announced by the United Nations on Tuesday, December 11, 2018.
Over the years since, the Council for Responsible Sport has participated in voluntary working groups that have identified key principles for action to serve as a shared framework for sport organizations in addressing climate change. These principles are often already being demonstrated by the 101 sporting events and organizations that have earned formal certification from the Council for Responsible Sport in recognition of their meaningful sustainability leadership.
We invite all sports organizations, sport industry professionals and athletes interested in joining this critical cause to take the first step by contacting us to get more information.
